Within the framework of the Europe Day celebrations join us for master classes and workshops with Atomo (Davide Tinelli) - well-known European street art artist from Milan.

Atomo is one of the first Italian artists who explored the various kinds of writing and street art. Atomo is very active on the local socio-political scene, he has promoted numerous cultural and artistic exhibitions, contributing to the spread of street art even in public institutions.

Learn about street art’s history, different styles and forms and practice with Atomo in the urban environment during workshop series.

Move to the rhythm of Europe! If you have a passion for music and a talent for rhythm, don’t miss your chance to participate in this dance workshop with talented Mircea Ecxarcu.

Mircea is one of the youngest choreographers and dance teachers in Romania. His talent for quick learning of street dance styles and his creativity took him swiftly to the next step in dancing - from apprentice to choreographer and teacher. Mircea was 19, when he started to train and teach the specific styles of hip hop like popping and locking, as they were created and as he learned them from their own founders/inventors.

You really should see Mircea in class! Join the workshop and share the joy of dancing and practicing together with Mircea and a local choreographer.

The Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Armenia intends to contribute to the Europe Day Month with another activity – the screening of the Lithuanian movie “Excursionist” (Director: Audrius Juzėnas).

The film is based on the incredibly true story of an 11 year old girl from the Baltics who escaped exile from a Trans-Siberian prisoner train on the way to a Gulag in the 50’s and made her way back home on a 6000km long journey full of danger and adventures. This film is about hope and destiny, love and friendship and immeasurable humanity of people.

Share your vision!

Essay topic: Europe4Youth, Youth4Europe

Description: We are launching this essay competition so you can share with us how you would like to change Europe! We are looking for exciting, to the point and topical non-academic essays in which you give us specific and concrete examples of what you would like to change in Europe.

Be creative, challenging and substantive! This essay contest is not about abstract political or academic ideas and objectives, but practical proposals which are feasible and pragmatic to be implemented to strengthen role of the young people in Europe, and particularly in Armenia.  

Tips and Guidelines on what to write: What is Europe for you? Is it merely a geographic region or something more for you?

How can the EU work together with the Armenian youth to promote youth employment and entrepreneurship?

How do young people in Armenia perceive Europe – its limits, identity, founding values and uniqueness.

Why is empowerment and encouragement to young people to be active as European citizens important for Armenia? 

RULES & GUIDELINES 

Language: Essays should be written either in Armenian or in English. 

Essay format: Essays should be max. 500 words in length. Submissions that do not meet this requirement, or that exceed it, will be disqualified. Essays should be word-processed preferably using Microsoft Word. Only one entry per participant is allowed.  

Plagiarism: All essays must be the original work of the participant.  Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification. 

Submission: Essay must be submitted within the period of May 9 – 27, 2016. The deadline for submission is May 27 at 17:00.

Essays must be submitted per email to: essay@europeday.am    

Copyright: Copyright for all submissions remain with the authors. In submitting their work, authors grant the EU Delegation an irrevocable license to print, publish, distribute and publicize the submitted work.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE 

Age Requirements: Participants must be aged 16-25. 

Citizenship: Participants must hold Armenian citizenship. 

Winner: One grand prize winner will receive an award. 

Evaluation: The essays will be reviewed by the EU Delegation first for technical compliance with the submission requirements and any essay that does not satisfy the submission requirements will not be selected for further review.  

Out of the remaining entries, the EU Delegation will next identify and select the top 20 essays from which the winning essay will be selected.  Essays will be judged based upon the clarity of expression and the passion and creativity shown in the essay.

No appeals will be entertained.
